About your instructor
A bit about me, how I teach, and why I still love this job after all these years.
Hi, I'm Dave
I started teaching driving lessons back in 2014 after spending a few years working in completely different jobs. Once I gave it a try, I knew straight away that this was what I wanted to do. There's something brilliant about watching someone go from being terrified of roundabouts to driving through the city centre like they've been doing it for years.
I'm a DVSA approved driving instructor with a Grade A rating, which is the highest standard the DVSA awards. That grade reflects my teaching ability, not just my driving, and it's something I work hard to maintain.
My teaching style is pretty relaxed. I don't shout, I don't make you feel stupid for making mistakes, and I genuinely believe that the calmer you feel in the car, the faster you learn. I've taught people from 17 to 60-something, and the approach is always the same: work out how you learn best, then build from there.
When I'm not in the car, I'm usually watching Forest play (for better or worse), walking the dog, or trying to convince my kids that I'm still cool. They remain unconvinced.

The car
I teach in a Vauxhall Corsa with full dual controls. It's a really popular choice for driving schools because it's compact, easy to manoeuvre, and has great visibility. The dual controls mean I can step in if I ever need to, so you can relax and focus on learning.
The car is always clean, well-maintained, and fully insured for learner drivers. You don't need to worry about anything except the driving.
- Dual controls for safety
- Air conditioning
- Fully insured for learners
- Clean and regularly serviced
