About Oakwell

A bit about who we are, how we got here, and why we do things the way we do.

Misty morning light through mature trees

Started from a van and a chainsaw

Mark started Oakwell Tree Care in 2016 after spending more than a decade working for other tree surgery firms around Devon. The name comes from Oakwell Lane, the road he grew up on outside Exeter. Trees were always part of the scenery.

After years of watching corners being cut and customers being overcharged, he decided it was time to do things differently. The plan was simple: show up when you say you will, do a proper job, clean up the mess, and charge a fair price. That approach has kept the phone ringing ever since.

Today, Oakwell Tree Care handles everything from a single prune in someone's back garden to large-scale site clearances for developers and councils. The team has grown, but the way we work has not changed.

How we work

1

We come out for a look first

Every job starts with a free site visit. We assess the tree, talk through the options, and give you a written quote before any work happens. No guesswork over the phone.

2

We explain what we are doing and why

You will always know exactly what work is being carried out on your trees. If something changes on the day, we talk to you first.

3

We leave the place tidy

When we finish, you would not know we had been there. All brash, timber, and sawdust gets removed unless you want to keep it. Your garden is left clean.
