Tom, Iron and Oak personal trainer

Strength first. Everything else follows.

I got into fitness the way a lot of people do. I was skinny, I did not feel great about myself, and I wanted to change something. I started lifting weights at 18 and never really stopped.

What kept me going was the simplicity of it. Show up, do the work, get a little stronger than last time. That cycle taught me more about discipline, patience, and self-belief than anything else in my life.

I qualified as a Level 3 personal trainer in 2018 after two years of studying alongside my own training. Since then I have worked with over 200 clients ranging from complete beginners to competitive lifters.

How I work

I believe in building a strong foundation before chasing anything flashy. That means learning the big compound movements properly, building consistent habits, and trusting the process. There are no shortcuts, but the results speak for themselves.

I will never give you a plan I would not follow myself. Every programme is based on what actually works, not what looks good on social media. I keep things straightforward because that is what gets people results.

Outside the gym

When I am not coaching, you will probably find me hiking in the Peak District, cooking something that takes too long, or trying to convince my dog that walks do eventually end. I live in Manchester and I genuinely love this city.

What I stand for

Honesty

I will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. If something is not working, we change it. No ego, no stubbornness.

Consistency

Results come from showing up regularly and doing the basics well. I will help you build habits that stick, not quick fixes that fade.

Respect

Your time matters. Your goals matter. I treat every session like it counts because it does. You will always get my full attention.
